Stamford Development of the South End and Harbor Point

Harbor Point and Gateway Development Sites
The $3.5 billion redevelopment of the area south of the Stamford Transportation Center is one of the largest and most important development projects on the US East Coast and is known as the Harbor Point and Gateway development projects. Harbor Point is an unprecedented vision of the Stamford waterfront. The project includes 6 million square feet of mixed-use development: 85 percent residential (4,000 residential units); 15 percent commercial, including office buildings, a grocery store, a waterfront hotel, restaurants and a full-service marina; more than 11 acres of parks and public space; a community school; and publicly accessible waterfront access. Harbor Point is a transitoriented development (TOD), situated only a ten-minute walk from the Stamford Transportation Center, and includes improved street and pedestrian areas. Supporting the Harbor Point development is the Gateway project located directly across the street from 9 Pulaski Street.
Across from 9 Pulaski Street is the GATEWAY Development Project . . .
which when complete will have 474,000 sf of Office Space, an 1,800 space commuter parking garage (Gateway Garage), a public riverwalk trail and improved streetscape and park setting including fountains and plantings. Additionally, there will be pedestrian access directly to the Metro North train platform. Work has begun on the site with the Gateway Garage scheduled to be completed first and open by Fall, 2013.
